Small Steps Create Great Things

The High Desert Botanical Garden is a dream that will become reality through confidence, support, and showing up. We don’t have all the answers, and don’t know how this will ultimately work out, but we have a vision and the confidence that we can figure out how to make this project come to life.

The key is working through small steps to reach each milestone. A series of which leads to building something real — in this case a botanical garden that highlights the amazingly beautiful diversity of the High Desert. One of those milestones is the completion of a feasibility study: the first step on a long road to success.

But right now we have a challenge. Funding an independent feasibility study that addresses all the elements of designing, constructing, and operating the garden as a public facility isn’t cheap, and our grant application for funding through the Bend Cultural Tourism Fund wasn’t successful. So we’re looking for alternatives and asking for your help in figuring out how to fund this first step.

If you have ideas or know of funding sources that may be worth pursuing, give us a call or send an email through this website. As the saying goes “It takes a village to raise a child” — in a similar vein, it’s going to take a community of supporters to raise a garden.

Thank you for your interest and your support! Together we will make this a reality.
